THE GIRL WITH THE FLYING SHUTTLE – Malin Ryberg

This is a children’s book written as a tale for the empowerment of girls and women. An alternative to the myth of the hyper individual Hero.
Whilst relying on fiction, her tales easily reads as both a call for action against capitalist destruction of our earth, as well as a manifest for a collaborative utopia in which shared responsibilities are balanced through specific perspectives and talents. The future will be challenging, but if we work together, there is some hope of figuring it out.

Malin Ryberg is the Author and Illustrator of The Girl with the Flying Shuttle. She was Born in 1993 in Sweden, Stockholm. Growing up, she longed for female wisdom. Her family being majority men, she turned to fictional characters for sense of female community. As the world of magic opened up for her, she began early to use her imagination as a tool to tell stories that mattered.
